Certified Diversity Practitioner Program Overview



Mission

The People Company Inclusion Institute™ Certified Diversity Practitioner Program prepares professionals to create and implement highly successful Diversity, Equity and Inclusion [DEI] strategies for organizational excellence and a competitive edge in today’s marketplace. The program blends theory and practice in six (6) sessions over three (3) months. Each month participants will experience two (2) days of intensive curriculum. They’ll have the opportunity for ongoing professional development over the three months and beyond as they build their network with future certified diversity practitioners.


A graduate of the program is recognized as an IICDP™ (Inclusion Institute Certified Diversity Practitioner).


Objectives

Upon completion of the 6-session program, participants will:

  1. understand the evolution of DEI
  2. recognize the significance of DEI in the workplace
  3. explore the practice of DEI
  4. learn about unconscious bias and microaggression
  5. learn keys to cultural competence
  6. discover how to measure DEI impact
  7. explore The People Company DEI Implementation Framework
  8. gain insights for inclusive recruiting
  9. learn the knowledge and skills to perform at a high level as DEI professionals and bring value to their organizations
  10. build relationships and establish a network with credible and equipped professionals to support continued growth as a diversity practitioner
  11. enhance their credibility with The People Company Inclusion Institute Certified Diversity Practitioner designation

Target Audience

The People Company Inclusion Institute™ Certification Program is geared toward DEI and human resource professionals as well as professionals from any industry with an interest in the field.


Prerequisites

Readings and activities will be assigned in advance of the first session and in between subsequent sessions. Participants are expected to complete all assignments prior to each session and arrive prepared to actively engage in discussions and small group projects. All participants will be provided access to The People Company Inclusion Institute™ resource drive, which will house required readings and activities for their IICDP cohort. Successful certification is dependent upon mastery of any pre-work as well as the in-session curriculum.


Certification Requirements

  1. Pre-work completion
  2. Attendance and completion of all six classes: 2 days per month, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  3. Group project completion
  4. Passing multiple-choice and short answer exam with a score of at least 80%​
